CPV: The European Council meeting of 14-15 December will welcome the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union (EU). To celebrate this important occasion, the Commission is organising a major event (open to all) in the centre of Brussels hosted by President José Manuel Barroso and Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn. Representatives of Bulgaria and Romania as well as of the member states will be present.

Germany to build housing for poor

Vietnam has not dumped leather shoes on the EU market. The EC’s imposition of anti-dumping tariffs on Vietnamese leather-capped shoes will only have a serious impact on Vietnam's leather shoe sector, running counter to the cooperative relations between Vietnam and the EU.

EC grants 16 million Euros for Vietnamese educational system

CPV: In Hanoi, on 12th September, Mr Tran Xuan Ha, vice minister of Finance and Dr Markus Cornaro, Ambassador-Head of the European Commission Delegation to Vietnam signed a Financing Agreement to provide 16 million Euros to enhance the quality of basic education and strengthen the administration of the government’s Education National Targeted Programme (NTP).
