Belgium helps Binh Dinh province upgrade irrigation system

Vietnamese and Belgium representatives, on November 23rd, in Qui Nhon City, signed an agreement on enhancing agricultural productivity by upgrading the Phu My district's irrigation system.
The project’s budget consists of 1 million Euros from the Kingdom of Belgium, 500,000 Euros from Vietnam, and 650,000 Euros from the Corresponding Capital Fund which was established with the debt of the Vietnamese Government that Belgium forgave in 2000.
Under the agreement, the project involves the construction in My Loc commune of the 2.5 million cubic meter Cay Sung lake, which will a ensure supply water for 200 hectares of rice field, and the construction in My Hiep commune of the 3.5 million cubic meter Dai Son lake, which will a ensure supply water for 500 hectares rice field, as well as a waterway system complex.
The project is scheduled to be implemented within 3 years.
