Denmark supports Vietnam in judicial and legal reform

The signing ceremony of the judicial and law reform program of Vietnam (3rd stage) which was sponsored by the Danish Government was held at the head office of the National Assembly Office, on December 29th.
The Vietnamese partners are the National Assembly office, the people's supreme procuracy, people's supreme court and the lawyer's delegation (via the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice).
Participating in the event were Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, representatives of relevant Vietnamese agencies, diplomatic agencies to Vietnam, international donors and mass media.
The program aims to accelerate the ability in approaching to justice by building a Vietnam under rule of law, with effective Government management, enhanced democratization, and by protecting people's rights and interests.
Under the program, Vietnamese partners can improve their activities with high quality and effective operations.
The program will operate for 4 years, from January 2006 to December 2009. The Danish Government will contribute 40.534 million krones, the Swedish Government will contribute 5 million krones and Vietnam will contribute 315.887 USD.
The 1st stage (1997-2000) and the 2nd stage (2001-2005) of the program have been finished.
