On April 9th, the Vietnam National Eye Hospital received eye instruments with total value up to 51,788 USD (1 billion VND) from the South Australia Eye Institute and Sight For All.
The event recognizing the gift drew the participation of Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Xuyen, Australian ambassador in Hanoi Allaster Cox and Mr Hammerton from the South Australia Eye Institute, together with the board of directors of the Vietnam ophthalmology association.
South Australia has been actively involved in training activities in the Vietnam National Eye Hospital via organizing teaching courses on retina, paediatric eye care and neuro-ophthalmology over the past two years.
In the near future, the two sides will continue promoting relations in the fields of training, technical transfer, and scientific research and studies on providing eye care to the community./.
