The current coach of Hanoi T&T FC, Phan Thanh Hung, has been chosen to lead Vietnam’s national football team, according to Chairman of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Trong Hy.

Under a short-term contract signed between him and VFF leaders, Hung will be head coach of the men’s squad in this year’s most important football event – AFF Cup 2012 in August.

He will also lead the team in two friendly matches with China and Hong Kong (China) next month.

VFF Chairman Hy said that he is optimistic about the contract with Hung, and is hopeful for approval from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the General Department for Sports and Physical Training in the next few days./.
