    DBD signs MOU with educational institutions in preparation for AEC

    The Thai government, through the Department of Business Development (DBD) Academy, on June 27 will sign a memorandum of understanding with leading educational institutions to boost the strength of Thai business industry.

    Deputy Minister of Commerce Siriwat Kajornprasart disclosed that the DBD will join force with educational institutions with expertise in different fields to develop the capability and standards of Thai businesses in order to make them more competitive in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

    Educational institutions that are cooperating with the DBD are Rangsit University, the Asian Knowledge Institute, Mahidol University, and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. In the future, other institutions are also expected to conclude similar pacts with the DBD, especially in the field of information technology.

    Siriwat added that the cooperation would mainly involve increasing potentials and improving management skills of Thai entrepreneurs through the use of modern technology./.
