    KOICA supports health care in Hanoi

    (CPV) - KOICA on June 27 grants the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Clinic (Hanoi-based Saint Paul Hospital) three ultrasound machines through projects carried out by three KOICA doctors, Dr. Cho Tae Jin, Dr. Seo Young Jin and Dr. Cho Jae Hee, rendering voluntary services at the clinic.

    These machines and integral parts including one portable ultrasound, one thyroid and cardiac ultrasound and one musculoskeletal ultrasonography worth almost 90,000 USD.

    So, the medical diagnosis and treatment quality at the hospital shall be much improved thanks to these ultrasound, supplementing the hospital’s medical equipments. Especially, the portable ultrasound enables the mobile health-check up.

    So far, KOICA has funded 1.3 million USD to upgrade the Clinic into a four-storey building between 2006-2007.

    Three doctors are going to complete their voluntary mission in October this year, after 28 months devoting themselves to the hospital’s medical care and other free health check-up activities at the remote areas along the nation./.
