    04:42 | 04/07/2012

A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) recently visited Mozambique to attend a ceremony marking the 50 th anniversary of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO).

At the ceremony, Mozambican President and President of FRELIMO Armando Guebuza applauded the presence of 12 fraternal parties, which, he said, reflects their friendship and solidarity with the Party, Government and people of Mozambique .

On speaking at the event, the head of the Vietnamese delegation and Secretary of the Party Committee in northern Ninh Binh province, Bui Van Nam, congratulated FRELIMO and the Mozambican people on the successes they have recorded during their struggle for independence, peace, development and prosperity over the past half a century.

He stated that Vietnam is keen to expand mutually beneficial ties with Mozambique , which contributes to peace, cooperation and development.

During their stay in Mozambique , the CPV delegation met with Prime Minister Aires Ali and leading FRELIMO officials to discuss measures to strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between both Parties and States.

The Mozambican leaders praised the success of Movitel, a joint venture between Vietnam ’s military telecommunications corporation Viettel and a Mozambican partner. It is expected that more Vietnamese businesses will invest in Mozambique in the future.

After concluding their visit to Mozambique , the Vietnamese delegation travelled to Angola , where they met with Afonso Van-Dunem Mbinda, Secretary of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) Central Committee for External Affairs.

Afonso said that the MPLA is interested in learning from Vietnam ’s experiences as it is carrying out a policy of encouraging national accord to ensure a peaceful, united and stable country. He added that his party will send a senior level delegation to Vietnam later this year./.
