    (CPV) -
Siemens Vietnam had a new leader on July 1st 2012, Dr. Thai-Lai Pham has been appointed as the new President and CEO in replacement of Mr. Erdal Elver, who will assume the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Taiwan.

Dr. Pham was born in Vietnam and grew up in Europe. He is the first Vietnamese CEO in Siemens’s history in Vietnam. After almost 30 years abroad, he’s very pleased to return “home” with his family, and is looking forward to a bright future with Vietnam.

Mr. Elver has been President and CEO of Siemens Vietnam since July 2008. Under his leadership, Siemens has become one of the most successful global companies in Vietnam. For the first time in its over 30 year history in Vietnam, the company has achieved consistently double digit business growth in direct business with high profitability and free cash flow.

“I feel very sad to leave Vietnam because Vietnam has truly become my second home. I’ve received a lot of support from the Vietnamese people during the past 4 years, and I am leaving with a lot of good memories which will be long cherished”, said Mr. Elver.

“With Dr. Pham as the new CEO of Siemens Vietnam, I am assured that our business is in good hands. Besides the fact that he is originally Vietnamese, and thus can quickly adapt to the local culture, Dr. Pham is a young Siemens talent and possesses a diverse working experience at Siemens. I know he's the right one for Siemens Vietnam and surely will continue Siemens's success story in Vietnam”, he added.

I was born and raised in Vietnam so it is a great pleasure for me to return "home" with my family after almost 30 years abroad. I’m very pleased to see that Vietnam has changed tremendously in that time: It has become one of the fastest growing economies in the world; it has improved key infrastructures such as energy and healthcare; and the country's standard of living has risen remarkably. Vietnam is now experiencing an exciting time with lots of challenges and opportunities. Together with my team, we will continue to assist Vietnam to successfully address their challenges on its path to become an industrialized nation in 2020”, emphasized the new CEO, Dr Thai-Lai Pham./.
