The ninth National Congress of the Vietnam’s Red Cross which took place in Hanoi on July 5th drew the participation almost 500 delegates representing more than 8 million members.

As a humanitarian organisation founded by President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam’s Red Cross has actively helped disaster victims to overcome consequences of natural disasters, said Le Hong Anh, permanent member of the Party’s Central Committee Secretariat.

Participants elected the 134-member Executive Committee and Nguyen Hai Duong as Vietnam’s Red Cross President for the 2012-2017 term.

The organization carried out 30 international projects valued at more than 40 million USD./.
