Officials from the central government and the authorities of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on July 4-5 visited and extended their congratulations to dignitaries and followers of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sect on the occasion of the sect’s 73rd founding anniversary (May 18 on lunar calendar).

The officials praised Hoa Hao Buddhist followers for fulfilling both their religious and social obligations, as well as contributing to humanitarian programmes.

Also on the occasion, under the authorisation of President Truong Tan Sang, An Giang province presented the Order for Great National Unity to Nguyen Van Ton, head of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sect’s Central Executive Committee, in recognition of his contributions to building, consolidating and developing the great national unity bloc./.
