The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has arranged a number of friendly matches for the national squad in preparation for the 2012 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup due to kick off late this year.

It will organize the annual VFF Cup as usual, inviting the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Turkmenistan and Iran to take part in the tournament.

Matches, lasting from October 24-28, will take place at HCM City’s Thong Nhat stadium, instead of Hanoi’s My Dinh national stadium as previously.

The VFF is also contacting with the Football Association of Indonesia to arrange for the two national teams to compete in friendly matches in Jakarta on September 15 and Hanoi on September 22.

The VFF also plans a training course in Europe for the national team to gain more experience, and Slovakia is the most likely option./.
