Meanwhile, Vietnamese government has also built a detailed action plan and set up the national targets for building e-government in the 2011 – 2015 period. The action plan aims at ensuring the technical infrastructure for applying information technology in the operations of government bodies; building a national information system; improving the essential specialized national information system; and providing services to both people and enterprises.
“Vietnam has made a great progress from number 105 in 2005 to number 83 in 2012 following an United Nation e-government survey, standing at the 4th position in ASEAN region after Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Most of the comparison indexes of Vietnam are higher than the world average number, especially the e-government index, infrastructure index and human capital index”, said Mr Le Thanh Tam, CEO of IDG ASEAN.
Aiming at promoting the development process of e-government in Vietnam, the 10th symposium will focus on three main issues: developing infrastructure for e-government, developing public services, and developing e-citizen.
This year’s conference will discuss these issues at a deeper level, in which enhance the effectiveness and applicability of the program about e-government and administrative reforming.
The symposium will have 7 main reports in key note session along with 2 intensive sessions and 3 discussions in order to evaluate the achievement on e-government development as well as find out the weaknesses and suggest the application of new inventions in e-government. Participants of this conference are leaders in government bodies and experts from the leading domestic and international IT enterprises.
Vietnam e-government symposium has become a prestigious annual event after 9 years of holding. It is an open forum where we can evaluate the situation of e-government implementing in Vietnam, build the strategic plan for the next period, share practical experience about building e-government with other countries in region and find solutions for promoting the application of IT in e-government and public administrative reforming.
With a highly practical theme and focus, the event hopes to catch the following goals: assisting public sector in promoting development of applying IT in administration, increase the interaction between e-government system and public, encouraging the public power and serving the society./.
