A fireworks team from the central city of Da Nang represents Vietnam to join an international fireworks competition in Vancouver, Canada from July 28-August 4.

The Vietnamese team opened the competition, themed “Honda Celebration of Light 2012” with a 25-minute display, featuring the land and people of Vietnam and Canada, similarities between Da Nang and Vancouver and development cooperation between the two countries.

Two other teams from Brazil and Italy will perform on August 1 and 4, respectively.

The competition, the largest annual event in Vancouver and the largest coastal contest in the world, attracts 400,000 views each night.

This year’s event is the first international competition that the Da Nang team takes part in./.
