    3rd HIV/AIDS writing contest launched

    (CPV) - The Press Club on HIV/AIDS Prevention on August 11 launched the 3rd press prize on HIV/AIDS with the sponsorship of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) and the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control under the Ministry of Health.

    According to the organizing board, all Vietnamese people and foreigners in Vietnam are eligible to participate in the contest. Entries to the contest must be press works published from January 1st, 2011 to September 30, 2012 on mass media and reflect the HIV/AIDS infection situation in Vietnam and in the world; HIV/AIDS prevention work in Vietnam; typical examples and effective models of collectives and individuals performing effective HIV/AIDS prevention work, especially examples of leaders pioneering HIV/AIDS prevention; anti-discrimination against HIV-infected people and AIDS patients; or examples of HIV/AIDS-infected people overcoming the challenges of their situation and integrating into the community to have useful lives.

    Entries to the contest can be from the print press, radio or television broadcasts, or online newspapers. However, fictitious are not accepted.

    The contest will award three first prizes, six second prizes and nine third prizes and 12 consolation prizes.

    The deadline of the contest is October 10, 2012./.
