After the launch ceremony, nearly 1,500 people registered and donated a total of 741 units of blood.
According to the report by the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT), each year in storm season, damages tend to increase, leading to increased demand for blood.
Mr. Pham Tuan Duong, Vice Chairman of the NIHBT, praised the effective activities of the Hai Duong provincial Red Cross. In the first seven months of the year, it mobilized over 3,900 units of blood, accounting for 60% of the blood used in hospitals in the province. However, the amount of blood collected only satisfies 50% of the demand.
Apart from students and young people, the VRC will encourage officials, police and soldiers to donate, striving to collect 3,000 units of blood during the campaign./.
