    18:31 | 17/08/2012

The cultural, sport and tourism week at Mu Cang Chai terraced rice fields will be held in four communes of La Phan Tan, De Xu Phinh, Pung Luong and Che Cu Nha in the northern province of Yen Bai from September 14 to 20.

The event is organised to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Mu Cang Chai District.

The week will introduce the beauty of the Mu Cang Chai terraced rice fields as well as promote the potential, strength and unique cultural character of the Mong ethnic minority group in Yen Bai to both domestic and foreign tourists.

There will be diverse activities during the cultural, sport and tourism week such as a saluting ceremony of new rice of Mong ethnic people in La Pan Tan Commune, a photo exhibition on terraced rice fields, a market-day for food and drink and a folk cultural activities performance.

Mu Cang Chai terraced rice fields, which are primarily situated in the district’s Che Cu Nha, La Pan Tan and De Zu Phinh villages, draw a large number of both Vietnamese and foreign travellers who love to take pictures of and indulge themselves in the amazing beauty of the national heritage site./.
