(CPV) - The International Tennis Federation Junior Championships – Hue 2012 is taking place in central Thue Thien - Hue province from August 18-26.
This tournament is part of activities in the National Tourism Year Northern Central Coastal Area - Hue 2012.
More than 130 young athletes (88 males and 43 females) under the age of 18 from 22 countries and territories around the world (Australia, Cambodia, China, Germany, Hong Kong - China, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Macau - China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan - China, Thailand, US and the host Vietnam) are competing in the men’s and women’s singles and doubles events.

In which, Huynh Phi Khanh is the unique representative for Vietnam in the women’s singles event.
Chih-Chun Tang from Taiwan (China) is the top seed in the men’s singles category, followed by Vietnamese player Ly Hoang Nam. While, German Ann-Christin Nilson, ranked 478th in the world junior standings, is the number one seed for the women's singles.
According to Mr Nguyen Quoc Ky, Vice chairman cum Secretary General of Vietnam Tennis Federation, this competition is a really good opportunity for Vietnamese tennis players to practice and exchange their skills with other international rivals, contributing to the development of domestic tennis industry as well.
Swings will be held at tennis courts in the An Cuu City New Urban Area. Entrance is free for all tennis fans./.
